Choosing a psychologist for yourself or your child is a meaningful decision. Families are often looking not only for expertise, but for someone who will take the time to listen, understand, and provide clear guidance.

I’m Dr. Danielle Enfield, a licensed psychologist and the founder of Enfield Psychological Assessment Services, Inc. I specialize in comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults across North County San Diego, including Carlsbad, Oceanside, and San Marcos.

My goal is simple: to provide thoughtful, individualized evaluations that help people better understand themselves and access the support they need.

My Background and Training

My training as a psychologist has been grounded in evidence-based assessment, diagnostic clarity, and careful clinical decision-making.

I have experience conducting high-stakes psychological evaluations, including working with at-risk juveniles, conducting neuropsychological evaluations with children and adults, working in correctional institutions, and conducting pre-employment psychological screening for law enforcement candidates. This work required a high level of precision, objectivity, and adherence to established standards — all of which continue to inform my approach in private practice.

At the same time, my clinical work with children, adolescents, and families has reinforced the importance of context, nuance, and compassion.

Comprehensive evaluations are not just about test results. They are about understanding the full picture.

In addition to my professional training, I am also a mother to three children. This perspective deeply informs my work. I understand how important it is for families to feel heard, supported, and guided through what can sometimes be an overwhelming process. I have seen firsthand the impact that learning challenges can have on a child’s confidence and experience in school, which reinforces my commitment to providing evaluations that are not only thorough, but thoughtful, compassionate, and genuinely helpful.

My family.
My family.

Why I Founded Enfield Psychological Assessment Services, Inc.

I started Enfield Psychological Assessment Services, Inc. to create a practice that reflects how I believe psychological evaluations should be conducted.

Over time, I saw that many families were left with unanswered questions after brief or limited assessments. Others faced long wait times or evaluations that felt impersonal or rushed.

I wanted to offer something different. A practice where:

  • Evaluations are thorough and individualized

  • An at-home experience that is less stressful and more relaxed

  • Families are given time to share their concerns

  • Testing is carefully selected based on referral questions

  • Reports are clear, meaningful, and useful

  • Feedback is collaborative and easy to understand

As a solo provider serving North County San Diego, I personally conduct every part of the evaluation process. This allows for continuity, depth, and a more thoughtful understanding of each individual I work with.

My Approach to Psychological Testing

I specialize in comprehensive psychological testing, including:

  • ADHD evaluations

  • Learning disability testing

  • Autism evaluations

  • Anxiety and mood assessment

  • Psychoeducational evaluations for school support

Each evaluation is tailored to the individual. There is no one-size-fits-all battery.

My approach is both scientifically grounded and relational. I use standardized, evidence-based tools while also paying close attention to behavior, context, and lived experience within the comfort of your home.

Equally important is how results are communicated. I strive to translate complex data into clear, practical insights that families and individuals can actually use.

What You Can Expect When Working With Me

Families often tell me they are looking for clarity — and a process that feels thoughtful rather than overwhelming.

When you work with me, you can expect:

  • A thorough and unhurried intake process

  • A personalized testing plan

  • A supportive and developmentally appropriate testing environment

  • Careful integration of all data sources

  • A detailed, well-written report

  • A feedback session focused on understanding and next steps

My goal is not just to provide a diagnosis when appropriate, but to offer a meaningful understanding of strengths, challenges, and how to move forward.

Supporting Families Across North County San Diego

I work with families and individuals throughout North County San Diego, including Carlsbad, Oceanside, and San Marcos.

Many families seek private psychological evaluations when:

  • They feel something isn’t fully explained

  • School feedback is unclear or inconsistent

  • Their child is struggling despite strong effort

  • They want a more comprehensive understanding

  • They need documentation for school or college accommodations

In each case, my role is to provide clarity, direction, and support.

A Balanced Perspective: Expert and Human

Psychological evaluation requires precision and clinical expertise. It also requires empathy and respect.

Families who seek evaluations are often navigating uncertainty. Children may feel discouraged or misunderstood. Adults may be trying to make sense of long-standing challenges.

I believe it is possible — and essential — to bring both expertise and warmth to this process.
